What year truck? I ran 17's on my 2009 without any problem. The brakes were changed in 2010 to a larger size.

Ford offered 17-inchers for all trim levels in '09.

In '06, I put AR Crush 17x8s on my FX4 mainly cuz the tires I wanted (MTRs) weren't available for 18s yet - which were the stock wheels.

I still have those same 17x8s on my '09 FX4. Never a problem whatsoever.

Reason for my rant: at the time in '06 the 951 McGrath wheels were back-ordered (extremely popular) and I didn't wanna wait, so I got the 17" Crush instead (AR's answer to the 951). Very similar design without the dimples, plus more backspace (5.5") than 951s (4.53") - which means less tire protruding out from the wheel arch. Not to mention 951s are 17x9, not 8.

That alone is a big plus. IMO.

???? My 2010 came with 17" rims. I wouldn't be surprised if the lower trim models on the 2011 models come with 17"s too.
