How often does Sync re-index?

How often does Sync re-index?
I'm using a USB flash drive for music. I've added a few songs to the USB drive but they are not recognized by Sync yet. How often does Sync re-index the thumb drive and/or is there a way to force a re-index?

It should re-index when you make changes to the USB drive.
