I would do lamin-x if you want the whole lens covered they have lots of colors and you can change them

HAHA nice try but I dont think so buddy. All ovens are different btw. Mine never melted on my focus or a buddies tiberon at 300F I think I even did it at 350 for 2-3 minutes they got hot then though. I wouldnt go higher then 300 for 10 min. you can always try 200F or so for 10 min and give it a go and reheat as needed. Btw they sometimes come apart hard that sealant is strong. Last time I did it on brand new headlights for my focus it took ~2 hours a headlight to get them apart and all the sealant off of them.

This is all my experience you are on your own if you try this. There are a lot of how to's online google is your friend

Some people say to re-bake them. I didn't, just use a lot of silicone. One nice thing about the 09-11 headlights is the fact that they have tabs around the housing where you can clip the lens into. That gives you that much better seal.

Brighton is a great area. I graduated from Hartland HS in 09'. The Dream Cruise is like my favorite time of the year!

I just pulled the reflector out and painted the chrome behind it. Just doing that gave them a darker look. If you wanted a darker look than that, Niteshade them.

thanks for the post! as soon as i saw this thread i had to do it.... it was a lot tougher to get the headlights apart than i anticipated but it was well worth it... the link is my finished product with my other mod i did adding LED turn signals to the mirror reflectors. i did both of these mods for less than $50! cant beat that!

Tired to get this to work today. Failed! I had it in the oven at 250 for 10 min then put it in again for another ten min. I want this to work because my trucks black. I hate the gray surround on my fx2. I would trade Someone with a 2011 if I could.

Maybe step by step or more detailed.

Help!!!
