Default $17 HD Headlights.... WHAT!?

I got bored on this past Saturday and decided to do the "headlight mod" to my headlights. I did this on my 02' Ranger and they turned out pretty good.
Heres the pics.

I baked them at 250 degrees for about 10 min. The first light had to be reheated a few times till I could find the best way to remove the plastic cover.

Before paint:

After Paint:

Sealed them up with black silicone (put it on pretty thick).

Finished product:

Nice!! I have done this a few times on other cars. Very fast and easy to do. Love it. Did you use krylon fusion paint?

I would have if Home Depot sold it. I used Satin Black Rustoleum.

NICE!

I've been wanting to do this to mine, but I've been too chicken to throw my perfectly fine headlights in my oven, LOL

although I want to paint the edging Royal Red and match the color of the truck

did you sand the area before painting, or just lay the paint right on?

What do you to put them back together? Just re-bake them? Do you use any sealant ??

Nice write up. You live in my hometown. Graduated from BHS in 1969. Moved away in the 80's but I get back up there in August (Woodward Dream Cruise time).
