Default 16,000 miles and.....

The 1-2, 2-1 hard shift is gone! It probably happened a little while ago but I had gotten so used to it I didn't realize it till the girlfriend got in the truck with me and mentioned it was smoother.

Not only that I have according to my recent check gained about a half mile per gallon in overall economy.

So much for the first 5,000 being when the transmission learns your driving style.

why would you put up with it for 16k when there is a perfectly good TSB out for it?

Is that a hypothetical question? Everything I've heard says there is no universally successful fix for the problem. I don't have it by the way but mine is new.

Because for the first 13k miles I lived in a one dealer town who said it was normal. The next nearest dealer was 200 miles away.

Does the shifting issue start from the get-go or after a certain amount of miles?

I've got less than 1000 miles on my '10 XLT Screw and it's shifting smoothly.

There is a fix many people have had it done and when performed correctly it WILL work. Its all based on the dealer that performs it and there competence. Read the TSB and take it in when you get it back if 10-15 miles are not on the odometer tell them to pound sand do it again. Spelling I know.
