Default 15K maintenance

My truck needs the 15K oil change and tire rotation. Yeah, I can do it myself but the local stealership has a $40.00 deal for this.

I called and talked to the service rep and asked about the 15K service. He said it was $258.00 + parts I asked him what it entailed. He rambled off the oil, oil filter, fuel filter, tire rotation, inspect this, inspect that, replace filters, and lube stuff. I told him about my $40 deal and he side the 15K miles includes a LOT more. I don't think so. I read 15K maintenance in the manual. and I will do it myself.

Are there any zirk fittings I need to locate for an FX4?

Very unreasonable. I prefer to do things myself when its withing my capability. If you want something done right, do it yourself. Last vehicle that I owned that had any zerks to grease was a 2001 S-10. None on the ford that Im aware of.

This sucks to hear. I'm up for my 15k service soon.

I like and trust my dealership's service department, so they've got my business. I have other things that require my personal attention.

Glad to know about the Zirks. Looked up my VIN and Mother ford has Part Number: 9155 (FG-1083) for a fuel filter.

I you look at the maintenance manual it does not even mention Fuel filter until 30K miles. Even then it say to replace it except for F series. F Series is us and that means you do not replace it yet even at 30K.

They are trying to rip you off. I would not take my truck there for anything, ever. They are not an honest shop.

There is no fuel filter in the trucks, I asked to have mine done and they told me that the new ones (09+) dont have them anymore.
