Like the title, I'm looking for a small mod for my gf's father who had an 11' Lariat supercrew 4x4

Pretty much this. Takes 10-15 min to install. They'll think of you whenever they open the tailgate.

Some LED lights from Amazon for reverse lights. Makes a huge difference in rear visibility. Not sure how old your gf's father is, but it would be a nice mod for 30ish dollars. There's a couple threads on here about people wiring them up. It's something I'm planning on doing to my truck as well.
