11.5" tire 12" wide rim?
Hi have some 35x11.5R20 nitto ridge grappler tires that say max rim width is 10" is this true? Can I not have them mounted on some 20x12 rims? Will it be dangerous? I bought some bora 1.75 spacers and no one will install them and recommend getting different rims instead because the spacers aren't safe

Yes that is true, they don't give you a range of numbers to use if it wasn't true....
You would be stretching a tire. Not cool or safe. That is something you see on lowered cars and it barely belongs there. You are increasing your chance of curb rash or a tire failure. Look up stretched tires on a truck and see if the look is for you.
As for the spacers, I personally wouldn't feel comfortable running them. Don't blame them for not wanting to install them, its a huge liability. Quality ones can be somewhat safe I guess, but not as safe as getting a wheel with the correct offset and no spacers. All depends on how much you trust the brand you bought the spacers from.

I think its safe to have a general rule of thumb that the treadwidth needs to be 1.5" or wider than the rim width. Keep in mind rim width is lip to lip, not outside to outside.
My fusion has 245/40R18 on a 18x8 that fit perfectly "square", doesn't have a bulge, or a stretch. That's 1.64" wider than the rim.
The raptor tire size/wheel is a 315 on a 8.5" wide wheel. Thats a total of 4" wider. Has bulge but looks good to 99.9% of the people on this forum lol.
Stock for my pickup was 275 on a 7.5" wide wheel. 3.3" wider than the rim.

Yep that's the rule I've always followed with my Jeeps and trucks. The TREAD width needs to be equal to or greater than the wheel width. So in your case, it's going to look retarded and expose your wheels to curb rash easily.

An 8.5 - 9" wheel is ideal for an 11.5" tire.

How's she goin' eh?
How wide are the FX4 20's? I'm running a 305 or 12" on them. They 10" wide? I know I'm safe but I'm pushing the limit.
