Your probably on top of it already by this time, but I had a similar issue. I pulled all the spark plugs (SP 528) and checked the gaps. A few plugs were pretty off, I put in Fords new spark plug SP534 that come pre gapped. I did a quality check on the new plugs gap to make sure and adjusted a couple that were off. Ford's new plugs are .030 and the SP528 that came stock in 2012 were gapped to .035 (well supposed to be anyway, the consistancy was not stellar). My misfires are gone and the truck runs great for me now (I have about 50K miles), I usally bring in my truck to be serviced , but for the plugs, I just do not trust the technician to care enough to ensure correct gap on all the plugs. Good luck and hope your truck is free of the issues now.

Your on point! 2011 and 2012 Spark Plugs 528's are the wrong plugs for the F150 EcoBoost. Installed the 534's and the misfire is corrected..

Its still stupid for how much you pay for these trucks and to have issuses that quick.
If you went and bought a new Samsung TV for 1500, brought it home and in two weeks had an issue would you brand all Samsung TV's as junk or would you think, eh I got a bad one of the bunch. We get on forums to find answers and become more educated about our products. It helps our position too when we see others with similar problems. Ford has CS reps in this forum, Facebook, and dealers that will address your concerns. I doesn't make me happy either if I have a problem (and hope I am not in this boat with this new truck!) but I do understand things happen and truthfully Ford has stepped up for me twice on repairs that were outside of my warranty and one I wasn't the original owner. |
Its sounds like your dealership experience was a positive one, glad to hear your truck is running better.
