hey guys, I'm looking at this pickup and have some concerns. Would the mileage scare you away? How is the 5.4 compared to the 5.0? here is link to the truck. Thank you!

The things that stand out at a quick glance are high millage, aftermarket wheels, dented up rear bumper, and torn up drivers seat. IMO it's in rough shape for the amount of money, even though it's a Lariat.

As far as 5.0 vs. 5.4. The 5.0 is probably the more reliable engine with higher HP and torque. What you would find tough is that the 5.4 has more torque down low while the 5.0 needs to rev out a bit to really come to life.

What is your reasoning? Lower payment? Will it be a daily driver? Or a beater?

That price seems really high, I mean its almost 10 years old, has over 150k on the clock. 5.4 isn't the same motor as the 5.0, its good, has its quirks and can be reliable, but you can read for days about that subject. Wheels aren't my cup of tea, would use that against the price.

Probably not. The interior is probably the biggest deal breaker for me. There's nothing worst than worn out leather seats. Being an older truck, first year or production, and a higher end trim with more electronics, I'd pass. Look for something newer in maybe an XLT trim.

My main goal is to lower payments I've got a another kiddo on the way. My main concern is the mileage, as far as the seats I would probably just put some seat covers on and call it day.

Oof, Mileage both on the vehicle and fuel economy would steer me away if there is anything with a 5.0 within 200 miles I'd see about that instead. 5.4L can be very reliable but 18k for a truck with 150k is pushing it.

In that condition, there are others out there for similar $$. If it looks beat up cosmetically, chances are the mechanical aren't in that great of shape (IMO anyways).

First year of production? Going to have issues with fenders and head/taillights? Under the shell, its just like a 2008. Obvi some interior changes, but you say it like its a new motor/trans without years of proven reliability to support it.
