Default Traction control kicks in on my ford f150 2021.

Hi everyone,
I have a ford F150 2021 lariat model.
when I try to drive in desert with 2H traction control stops the car from spinning and drifting.
I tried holding traction control button for 10 seconds and turn it off completely and it still it doesn't help.
I believe i have to remove the Fuse for traction, does anyone know which Fuse i should remove?
thanks

I drive in the desert also, only option I found to completely turn off traction and electronic stability control is by disconnecting the wheel speed sensor. It is a brown connector right next to the air filter.

Best of luck

I heard somewhere to put it in Sport Mode, then hold the TC button for 10 seconds until it says it is Advanced Traction Control off or disabled. Maybe give that a try?

I've had good luck getting plenty loose in the snow lately in normal mode, after simply pressing the TC button once. Didn't know there was a deeper level of freedom. Maybe necessary when more force is required for wheelspin. Makes sense in sand.

I really hope someone has an answer. I am about to take my truck back to dealer for warranty on the tsc system. I cannot pull into traffic using 1/4 throttle without it venting boost and pulling power. It does this whether button is held or pressed. If advancetrac is “turned off” it has no effect. This is beyond frustrating and in my opinion unsafe.

Double check your manual. On my 2020, 1 press of TC button turns it off, and 2 quick presses puts it in TC Sport mode. Not sure what a 10 second press does, but unless you see the TC Disable mode light come on then I'd guess your not doing anything.

For general paved road/highway dirving I'll leave it on in the snow, but always disable it once off the pavement and especially going uphill- super annoying to have the truck cut power to keep from fishtailing exactly when you want that power. I used to just do the 1 button disable but now do the 2 button press.

There are two parts of the "Stability Control System" you can control:

* Traction Control -- This is primarily for preventing simple wheel spin
* Electronic Stability Control -- This is for preventing skids and lateral slides

The button presses to control these are:

One quick press: Traction Control OFF, Electronic Stability Control still ON

Long Press for 5 to 10 seconds: Traction Control OFF, Electronic Stability Control OFF -- This is the best press to turn off both

Two Quick Presses: Both Traction Control AND Electronic Stability Control still ON, however this is "sport mode" so the truck allows slightly more wheelspin and slightly more fishtailing than in "Full On" mode, but they're still on. This is more restrictive than the long-press.

Roll Stability Control (which prevents rollover) is technically the third of the three Stability functions, but it cannot be turned off at all in 2Hi or 4Hi. It is automatically turned off in 4Lo.

It's certainly possible that the programming has changed over the years, but in my 2015, if I long press (5 to 10 seconds) to completely turn off Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control, I can do whatever I want with the truck, wheelspin, fishtail, drift, etc. in the dirt. As someone mentioned above, just make sure the light on the dashboard turns on, indicating that the system is turned off.

Florida_F150 is correct. Read the manual to understand the different levels of disabling.

One minor detail I have noticed, even with traction and stability control fully off, if I enable the rear locker it seems to limit wheelspin.

@Florida_F150 is the screen shot from your 2015 manual? I've looked all over for this info in my manual for this info, and am going to go double check again. Will also do the 5+ second press to see what it says. Thanks!

It is in my 2018 manual - table of contents shows a standalone section "Traction Control". Probably not the same in yours, but Page 230.
