Default Off road light switch

Where are you guys mounting the switches for exterior off road lights?

was thinking of a trim piece near the center console shifter so I can replace a small trim piece if I ever sell the truck…ideas?

Wire a relay's hot trigger to the headlights, and ground trigger to the t-case 4WD switch, so they come on automagically. No manual switch needed.

the few times I’ve been off roading for fun, would’ve benefited from lights but didn’t need 4x4 the whole time.

plus, these will be used on old farm roads when needed and used as perimeter lights when I’m in a field…so I’d need to control the lights manually

Then wire the ground side to a switch anywhere that makes sense to you. Mine is near the headlight switch, but the lights are wired to come on as cornering lamps when the switch is off.

yup, will do, just wanted to see or hear ideas to expand on things I might not have thought of.

my first thought was to install it under the driver side chest AC vent, but I have puddle light switches there so it would be tight…that way if I sell the truck and remove the lights, I can install a new vent to “remove” the hole.

Best option, also options to come with custom relay panel to mount to battery and wire to make that run from the switch panel to the relay panel under the hood:
