I don't understand people... Why Come and bash the op because he is wheeling a ifs truck vs a straight axle... The thread has nothing to do with that....
It's just like some people busting people ***** because they build or buy a truck lift it up and never offroad it.... I just don't see the point in busting someone's *****
Most of the big lifted up straight axle diesels hardly ever get driven offroad unless it is a "mud truck" that is not a daily driver
Not many people will wheel thier rig if it's a DD

I don't see bashing of the OP at all, just a discussion of different front end designs.

I think a 4" lift with 35s looks sweet but I plan on running a full RCI skid plate setup which won't fit with the diff drop. The skids should prevent something like what happened here. OP, good to see someone that hits some trails in their truck!

I hit one once....and not sure I would do that same one again! Glad I didn't go down for a second run. Might have lost more! :P
Ultimately, I still got to drive home and the family had a blast.

I would be interested in what the hardness of that steel they use for the girdle is. Obviously it is mild steel but it seems to be a bit soft in terms of strengths of steel. I had a Rancho kit years gao in a IFS chevy and it took some monster kits and never looked like that.

I also have a squeak in the front driver side. Somewhere around the strut area, but I couldn't pinpoint it. When you rock the truck or get in/out of it, it sounds like a rocking chair.
Dropped it off this morning and crossing my fingers their overall assessment is more positive, then negative.

You didn't happen to have some kicker braces on it, did you? They're supposed to help keep the crossmember from moving back like that when it gets bumped off-road. If you had them, you might have driven away with just a dent. If you DO have them, then damn! Haha
