Default 5.0 f150 alternator getting wet

hi guys

what can one do about the alternator being on the bottom of the 5.0 engine and getting so wet that it has to be replaced a lot? Is there a brand that is designed for getting submerged in water or some kind of skid plate? if that would even work... bought my 2013 Fx4 F150 5.0 to do a little offloading and this problem really sucks i like this truck.

thanks,

I don't have an answer for you but I had that issue with my last truck which was a Tacoma. Really annoying.

I would think this would help keep water out as well as protect.

Put a lift kit on the truck, that'll get it higher off the ground. It's one of the main reasons I lifted my truck because of the retarded engineer that decided to put the alt down there.

That or stay out of high water.

No real way of completely waterproofing it unfortunately. What I had to do when I had my XJ was to have a custom mount made that would relocate the alternator to the top of the engine. It was expensive and time consuming. I don't even know if there is room in the F150 5.0 engine bay to do this; I know that there is not enough room in my EB.
