I'M LOOKING FOR A WEBSITE OR SOMEWHERE TO BUY A SET OF WHEEL ADAPTORS FOR MY 2006 F150 SUPERCREW 4X4. I WANT TO GO FROM A 6 LUG PATTERN TO AN 8 LUG PATTERN. I LOVE THE LOOK OF THE NEW 08 SUPER DUTY WHEELS. I THNK THEY WOULD LOOK GOOD ONMY TRUCK. CAN SOMEONE HELP?

My experience with adapters is uneasy.

Make sure the quality is there - the ones I bought way back when consisted of a pot metal ring with the new wheel studs. The ring was bolted to the original pattern, then the wheel was bolted to the studs on the ring. Just wasn't real confident in the integrity of the ring. Also, it makes the wheel stick out about 3/8" more. They worked OK, just had a nagging concern on extreme driving events. Hopefully things have improved in design over 20 years.

Also, not sure if the geometry will suppost going from 6 lugs to 8????

with all due respect, if you have to use wheel adapters, its not meant to be and probably shouldnt be done....like a tube top on a fat chick.

onion rings not belly rings?

I know that quite a few diesel rims are now being made in a 6 lug bolt pattern now, you just need to look around, and check out your options.

If you can get us a pic of the rims you want, we might even be able to help you find em.

now if you install these adapters/spacers your wheels will stick-out about 1.5" to 2"... then you will have to consider rims with a different backspacing to make-up the difference.

just a thought
