Talking Nitto Trail Grapplers

I would just like to start a review thread of Nitto Trail Grapplers. I just recently had these tires installed on my 2003 F150 Screw and I love them. Currently my suspension is stock so I went with a 295/70/17. If anyone else out there like to add some input to tread life, running psi, etc I am sure many people would appreciate that as many people would like to know about tire options. thanks

I have had the Terra Grapplers on my Superduty for some time now. They have been a decent tire for the money. They have done well on the street, dry dirt/grass, and in the mud. Now that they have close to 30k wear, they are all but worn out. Keep in mind my superduty weighs right around 8300#. Their mud, wet grass traction is shot. All in all, they are OK. I figure on going with something else next.

Wouldn't worry about tread life.. The trails hold up nicely.. UNLESS you are spinning tires, not balancing or rotating regularly.. Purchased mine in 2010.. 325/50/22... Got about 35,000 on them now and they haven't worn down at all.. I can easily see 55K+ out of these tires..

They've been in mud about 15 times since purchase so i'm primarily highway.. They tend to howl every now and then...

Stepping down to the Terras.. A little lighter and softer for highway driving.. They are great in mud also...

Hey KingRanch,

Thanks for the TRAIL Grappler review. I just noticed that the OP was asking about them. I just seen "Nitto **** Grappler" and didn't notice the trail part lol. Anyway I too am in the market for some tires in the near future. It's good to know that the Trails are holding up well. I drive a mix of country hwy, country road, mud, snow, dirt, etc. so an aggressive tire that wears well is in order.

Snow, that part i dont know.. They are aggressive.. I bought it because of the highway mileage an the occasional off road.. When i do hit the mud i am comfortable knowing that i won't get stuck.. As mentioned earlier, i'm dropping down to the Terra Grappler AT.. They are more than capable to tackle the mud that i go through here in GA.. I don't get in Red Clay at all.. My tires would start to dry rott before they wore out..

I'm going to look for pics of your truck, I like that size of tire you are running. I have 285 55 22 terra grapplers now. I am considering a 295 60 20 or 275 65 20 trail grappler for my other set of wheels. I drive a bit of gravel every day and was thinking the mud terrain tire may throw less rocks, not sure tho

I drive a gravel road daily too and I will tell you that these tires throw rocks like a SOAB! haha the gravel by me is fairly large (golf ball size and a little smaller) and i check my tires everyday for rocks getting picked up in them.
