M/T or A/T???
I've been racking my brain for weeks, and spent more time looking at pictures and reading reviews than I care to add up. Bottom line I like the way the M/T's look. I've been looking at the Kumho Road Venture, the Nitto Trail Grappler, and the BFG TA KO. My truck isn't driven daily, most of the time its parked at the airport while I'm away for work. I really don't go offroad much, its more about how mean the M/T's look. I'm just worried about how loud the M/T's are going to be, so I'm looking for some comparison. Am I going to have a head ache every time I drive it? I've got mangaflow dual exhaust on it already, am I going to hear it over that with the radio on?
I've been running mt's for years-goodyear mtr's to be exact. They are loud but I like it. Unfortunately goodyear changed the mtr and I'm not fond of the new tread design and have been told by my local dealer that he wasn't happy with them when he ran them. I am putting new tires on tomorrow and I'm either putting the fierce attitude or goodyear duratrac on. Both of the tires offer the mean look your talking about. I got 46,000 out of my current set. You will have to balance them every 3000-5000 miles to get the good mileage out of them. Bottom line is they will roar if you get the mt. An agggressive mud terrain with the side lugs will give you the look with less road noise. Hope this is helpful. Good luck with the decision.
Any m/t you get is going to be loud. I have the Nitto Mud Grapplers paired with the 40 series Flowmaster. They are loud, but not loud enough to phase out the radio or phone calls. They are at the least, bareable. I got them strictly for looks as well, and I love them
I have maxxis buckshots, they are a badass tire for the money and I can only hear them over the exhaust if I have the windows down, ac off and radio off. Im runnin a dumped dynomax bullet so its fairly loud

Thats what he meant! I always run AT's because I live in the northeast and we get alot of snow and such. I do love the knobby look od the mudders, but cant justify the money when they suck in anything except mud lol. If I was in your situation, I'd have some wicked thornbirds or something...
At about 70 mph my Toyo's sound great and in harmony with my Magnaflow on new asphalt! I run a hundred miles a day on my work commute and in a year have over 23k miles on them. Ought to get 50-60k miles easy out of them.

I am always chiming in on the tire threads. Probably because I want a level with wheels and tires. The trail graps are my favorite tires out right now and i've asked a few people how loud they are. They all said not nearly as loud as the other M/t tires they had run. You could also go for a more aggressive looking all terrain like the Mickey Thompson ATZ or the Procomp Extereme All Terrain. I also think the wrangler duratracs are nice but a little overpriced. IMO. I have dunlop max traction m/t and they are only noticeable at low speeds. I also really like them. But I heard they have stopped making these.
