Default Help on wheels and tires ???

I am no wheel / tire guy. Don't know what I'm looking at.

But this is what i am trying to do.....

I have a 2005 F-150 5.4 and just installed the Bushwacker fender flares.

My question is, Do i stick with a 17 inch rim ? And how big of a tire can i go with to full the wheel wells and what off set rim do i want to bring the tires out so the flares look needed but won't rub inside the wheel well ?

Thanks, Paul

Depends on the look you want. Do you like more tire with a small looking wheel or more wheel with a decent amount of tire. Obviously if you go stupid big for the wheel like a 22, it looks dumb IMO. I personally would do a 20x10 so you can go wider on the tire due to the flares. If it's a 2wd you'll wanna do a leveling kit up front. I did a 2.5 on mine and I can fit 33x12.5.

It's the Bushwacker pocket style with a 2 inch flare.

And my truck is 4 wheel drive. It's an XLT and the *** end is a bit higher then the front.

Thanks

These are a few pictures of the '04 Lariat I had...tires were 295x70x17 Toyo MT's on 17x9 wheels with 0 offset that came out 2 inches more then stock. Truck had a 2-1/2" leveling kit and stock height rear. No rubbing with this setup and these tires performed well.

Don't know if these pics are good enough. The side view the front tire is on the grass.

Looks leveled ... a pic of your top front coil spring would confirm this.
