Default Help Me Please!

I have installed a 2.5 Skyjacker Leveling Kit on my 05 F150. I have been shopping for weeks for tires and wheels. I finally made my choice to go with Mickey Thompson ATZ Traditional 305/65/17 and a Pro Comp 17x9. I just called 4 Wheel Part Wholesales to place my order and the rep told me that 33's on after market wheels will rub!! I have read through numerous messages on this site and I have seen tons of guys with similar setups. This rep told me that I can only run a 11.5 wide tire. Please help with this. I want a 12.50 tire. Is this guy right?? Thanks!!

I ran 17x9 wheels with 5 inches of BS with 315x70x17 BFG's with minimal rubbing in the front. With a 33" tire you ought to be OK. I run 8" wheels now and have no rubbing with the 315's (which are 35x12.5x17).

Default Rub?

Beautiful truck!! Thanks for the reply. Was the rub in the lower corner of the fenderwell? Did you have to cut any?
I didn't think I could put a 12.50 tire on a 8 inch wheel. Obviously you did it w/ no problems I assume? That might be my solution right there. If I run a 17x8 wheel, I could go with the 12.50s w/ no rub I would think?
Do you think that setup would work?
Thanks for your time. Happy New Year. I hope we all have a great one!!

My tires rubbed a little on the lower wheelwells with my 9" wide wheels. The 8" wide wheels I have on now with stock 5 1/2" backspacing draw them into the wheelwells more than the 9 incher's. I've seen guy's run 35x12.5 Toyo and BFG MT's without rubbing on the 8" wheels. My all terrains do not have the large sidelug's like the MT's do and that gives me more clearance also. This same rule applies to 17 and 18" diameter wheel's and on leveled 4x4's 04-08's. I have over 30k miles on these tires in the last 3 yr's with no rubbing problem's. Thank's for the comment's on my truck, not bad for a 61 year old guy's work and play truck! Ha Ha Have a great New Year.

My tires are 35's, but are 12.50 wide. I bring this up because I had 12.50 AT's prior with no rubbing issues at all. Now I have 12.50 MT's and I have rubbing. So with a less aggressive pattern you may be alright, but a more aggressive pattern may give you some issues. Also the BS on the wheel you choose will make a difference in whether you rub or not. Try to stick wiht something as close to the stock BS (5.5") as possible.
