Default Goodyear vs bfg

I will be buying a set of LT285/65 x18 tires for my 2009 scab 4x4 which has a 2" level kit on it. I like the looks of the Goodyear Silent Armor tire but have been told the BFG AT KO lasts longer. Which tire has better all around ride...handling...durability and looks? Help!

You may get tired of looking at the BFG's before you can wear them out! Every Goodyear tire I've had on a pickup was worn at 30-35k miles.

The BFGs are good but problem is they often get hard before they wear out. My personal favorite tire is the Hankook RF-10. Good price, great traction, quiet, and just a kick *** looking tire.

I'm in a similar situation. I like the looks of the Silent Armor, BFG's new Rugged Terrain, Hankook ATM mentioned above. Also looking at Dueler AT Revo. I plan on adding bilsteins to level out the front. I would also like to see more opinions on this.

The dueler Revo is a good looking tire and performes ok, but, doesn't get too many miles. They melt quick.

Nothing beats the BFG At's for durability, I traded in my truck but had 50k on the BFG's and they had plenty of tread life left, its not uncommon for them to go well over 60k. The bfg's look great and the ride is great, you wont even know you are on at's. For the money there really is nothing out there that beats the bfg's.

I constantly talk bad about goodyear because they suck so bad, but, I have an event deeper hatred for the worst tire on the market.

We had a brand new(less then 1000 miles)Wrangler Duratrac come in with a small bolt in the center of the tread. No big deal for any tire besides a goodyear. It had 15 or so bubbles in the inner liner from the worthless *** tire separating. My phone was almost dead so i couldn't get any pics but I will Monday.

I have pulled hundreds of bolts, screws, and just random things out of tires in my almost 10 years of tire service and never once have i ever seen a tire separate due to a puncture. This tire wasn't run flat or anything just destroyed because instead of glue I think goodyear uses wax paper between each ply layer.

I am 100% happy with the Silent Armors and am on the second set on my truck. It has 150k miles and has only had 2 sets of Goodyear Silent Armors.

Tow excellent, grip in normal and wet conditions excellent, I drive on beach sand a lot and always great (pulled at many trucks with BFG's)...

I absolutely hate Goodyear tires with a passion, Ive hated every mile Ive had to drive on any Goodyear tire ive owned. I will vote BFG over Goodyear every time. Ive gotten great mileage and performance from the BFG AT's and MT's that Ive had.
