Default 2009 f150 TPMS

So I got a set of rims/tires from someone that had them on a 2018 F150. Mine is a 2008 and I'm getting the tire pressure sensor error. I tried getting one of the Ford reset tool and programming .. didn't work.

I went to the local tire place and he tried it with his kit .. didn't work. He showed me his tool and the sensors for 2018 F150s uses a different frequency. I'm guessing this means I won't be able to use these sensors on my old truck right?

I saw one person that disabled the sensor using the forscan software ... not sure if that is worth the hassle though.

Thanks

Those sensors will not work. Also, using Forscan to disable the TPMS light only works on 2009+ trucks. You’ll need to get new sensors (ones meant for 07-08 F150’s) or put a piece of tape over the light. It’s not a bulb you can remove, it’s a soldered in led.
