Default anyone run into this problem?

I had 18inch rims with p265/65R18 on my truck to start with. I bought 20x9 foose whip 6 rims with p275/55R20 goodyear eagle tires. I thought I did my research and found that the offset was supposedly correct. When I got them on last Saturday I realized that most noticably at the front the tires stick out. I measured them and the actual track width is 2.5 inches wider. From the front it does not look right because the wheel sticks out from the wheel well about 1-1/4 inches more than the OEM wheels. There is lots of room in the wheel well so I'm not sure why the offset if I remember correctly was supposed to be about 30 has the wheel sitting out so far. Does anyone have suggestions? I'm going back to the dealer on Saturday to see what they have to say but I was hoping to gather some advice before then.

Thanks

Stock rims are 7.5 inches wide so if you go with the same backspacing but a 9 inch wide rim they will stick out 1.5 inches further. Not a big deal unless you really hate the look. I as do a lot of people prefer the wheel sticking out look, many do not, its up to you but I think that looks better.

So basically if I don't like that look I'm more or less screwed right? Because there is no way of compensating for the wheel being to far out?

Also just to throw it out there, the stock backspacing is around 5-1/2" is it not? Everywhere I have searched the whip 6 are supposed to be backspaced 6-1/4". Should that not have corrected the problem?

Yeah I looked around too and all I saw for those was 6.19 backspacing, thats less than 3/4 of an inch difference for a 1.5 inch wider rim, so even with that backspacing the rim will stick out a little over 3/4 of an inch further than stock, add a wider tire on a wider rim and thats where you are getting the extra width from. So basically yeah, if you hate the look youre kinda stuck unless you sell those rims for a little loss and buy new ones that arent as wide. Its going to be pretty difficult to find aftermarket rims that dont stick out at least a little because most aftermarket rims are at least 8-9 inches wide and most come with stock backspacing or less. Why dont you post some pics up and let us see what your truck looks like, im betting its not bad at all.

That is about how far my tires stick out with my wheels... Thats why I got the flairs. My truck was always getting dirty from the tires.

I dont have a good pic of how the wheels stick out.. And I did not drive my truck to work today. So here is the best I have.

Just get some fender flares and paint them. that will fix your problem.

I saw the before and was like... WHAT THE HELL IS HE TALK
ING ABOUT. Then i saw the after and realised how I missed the small heads up of before.

It certainly isn't an ideal look, but isn't that bad. You could compleatly re-enginere the front syspention to move it all in 1.5 inches. If it helps I am not a huge fan of that wheel so maybe selling and finding wheels that fit to your liking might be a good option.
