Default Another tire question

I wanting a more aggressive looking tire. I won’t be doing any off-roading. I want a tire that will do good in rain and snow. Be able to get decent amount of miles, quite on Hwy and not too heavy. I’m wanting to go 33”. I like the KO2 but think they seem like too much tire for someone that is going to use them off road. Also would like to keep as much MPG as i can

what are you guys thinking?

Stay away from wide tires and LT tires to accomplish what you described. Nitto has several options of non-LT tires up to about 34”.

I'm basically in the same camp as you are OP, and have been doing a ton of research. Around this forum and others, the Falken Wildpeak AT3W is getting a lot of attention, along with the Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S. Less so the Yokohama Geolander A/T G015 and Nokian Rotiiva AT. They're mostly trying to imitate the success of the Michelin Defender LTX M/S. The Michelin tires aren't the most aggressive looking, but they do seem to be the best, though expensive. The Cooper AT3 4S are along a similar line, but look better. The Nokian tires are intriguing to me, but harder to find. Just stay away from XL or E rated tires to keep the weight down and preserve fuel mileage.

I only have 10k miles on the OEM Hankook Dynapros, but if I was looking to replace them I may look into Firestone. Firestone has taken a new approach and will be fazzing out the Destination AT and splitting the Destination all terrain model into two new tires. The Destination A/T2 an all terrain tire geared more for highway or light off road and improved (according to Firestone) traction over the older model for wet/snow. The Destination X/T will be a more aggressive all terrain for someone who will spend much more time off road or on gravel. The A/T2 will be available in P metric only and the X/T in LT only. Both tires will have the 3 peak mountain snowflake certification.

These just became available in August so there's not much out there currently in the way of reviews. I will say I have had the older Destination AT and they served me well and lasted easily 50k miles plus.

Just installed a 2” level and I’m running some 1.5” wheel spacers now. I really like the stance. But need the A/t now.
I’m pretty sure I’m going with the falken wildpeak at3w
question now is do i run them on my factory 18” wheels with the spacers or go for aftermarket wheels with a 0 offset.
mid i do this I’ll probably try to find a 20x9 wheel

Wow, this is a loaded question. The Toyo MT suck in the snow, I’ve been there with them, so far the best all around ones I have run are the Toyo RT, down side is they are Spendy!

I've had these about a year and 15,000 miles and am EXREMELY pleased. Will buy them again. They are the best rain tire I think I've ever owned and have done very well in mud as well. We didn't get a snow last winter so I can't comment. But they are 3 peak rated so they should be pretty good.

Mine are an E rated tire, and you're unlikely to find a 33" tire that is not an LT tire, but they do offer several sizes in P ratings. The ride is a little more firm than the P rated tires but not uncomfortable on highways at all. The only time I notice any difference is on rough gravel Forest service roads.

I THOUGHT I'd lost about 1-1.5 mpg after buying the tires, but I had my front brakes replaced at about the same time I bought tires. I just had to have the brakes replaced again after only 15,000 miles. Seems my mechanic installed them incorrectly last year and they have been slightly dragging. He made it right and put new brakes on for me recently and my fuel mileage is right back to where it was with the factory P rated tires.

I've been buying tires for 40 years and despite what I read on the internet I've never observed any loss of fuel mileage. I have E rated tires on my F150 and Tacoma, both get exactly the same fuel mileage as before. As have every other truck or SUV I've owned since the 1970's.

My tires prior to mounting next to BFG's in the tire shop.

And on the truck

Try stock width, 33" height (in 20" it's a 275/60/20), P-metric Falken Wildpeak AT3W. Or some other p-metric 33" all terrain like a Cooper Discoverer 4S or XLT or new Toyo Open Country AT3

If you want all the performance aspects you mentioned but will settle for a less aggressive appearance (looks of an all season highway tire not trying to look like an AT) then Michelin LTX M/S2
