Default 22 in wheel question

My 21' Limited comes with a 275/50/22 tire size that has exactly no decently aggressive alternatives. Basically only highway tires. Would like a mildly aggressive tire that looks tougher when I drive to the mall. Don't want to lift/space/level it (I also a new truck owner so I'm not totally sure I have that correct) but I don't want to modify the truck in anyway, just want to take off the General Grabber highway tires and install a better looking tire. Does anyone know of a good tire under these circumstances I could go with? I like the recon grappler that is 285/50/22 but not sure that will fit appropriately. Also could do 285/45/22, but not sure how either of those will work.

22" wheels only look aggressive with 38-40" tires, and I don't see that as practical on a street F150.

Totally agree but just want to switch from a sedan Highway tire to a modestly aggressive tire like a nitro grappler recon or toyo all country AT.

You should have no issues moving up to a 285/50r22, which is available in a bunch of the popular AT offerings including Toyo and Nitto.

The difference in size is only about 1.5" taller with the 285 option, however sticking a 34.3" tire under the limited I thought would be more difficult. Assuming the limited sits lower than a base 4x4 model truck.
The tire is taller than the 4x4 model, and if the truck sits lower, I could see it being just difficult enough for concern.

It's only Wednesday. You have time this week to stop by a tire shop and ask them those questions. It's a little unusual, but you may find your local tire store, who sells tires every day, may know what will fit.
If you don't plan to purchase from them, well just sit back and wait for the internet answer instead of wasting their time at the shop.

Just searching around and putting in keywords like "aggressive tread

and "22 inch" yields several results...how about a Nitto Terra Grappler? 285-45/22

Since my current size is 275/50/22, could I go to a 285/45/22 in an all terrain tire and avoid the height of the tire that could be a problem for my truck with the 285/50/22?

This is very helpful! Seems like the 285/45/22 is the closest to my 275/50/22 in size, weight, etc.. Would have liked to have found 285/50 or 285/55 to keep the max height but the difference is minimal and I am having a hard time finding the 285/50 or 285/55 in a non-LT tire (trying to avoid the weight penalty of the LT as I use the truck exclusively as a daily driver.)

you will sacrifice overall height with the smaller 285/45r22. Could even fit a 305/45r22 at stock height to give you more sidewall. I run the 285/55r22 Toyo AT3 on my truck but doesn't seem to fit the bill you're trying to go for.
