If im not mistaken on these trucks the speaker grille is built into the panel and is actually part of the panel and cannot be removed (or is not supposed to). the door panel removal is actually pretty easy. there are youtube videos on how to do it.

i would definately start with just the front speakers first. Thats all i did for my 03 Supercab. you wont notice much difference with the rear replaced but if you decide you want it then go for it. i always say start small and gradually get more so you dont spend anymore than you have to

one thing i would suggest is prior to ordering your speakers, remove your door panel and remove your speaker and roll your window all the way down measure the distance from the glass to the lip of the hole where your speaker mounts. Then make sure the mounting depth on your new speakers is less than the distance you measured. it will be listed in the specs on the website. you dont want to find out that you can only roll your windows down halfway

thanks for all the good advice. I'll stick with just the front two speakers. I'm sure this will be more than enough for me as i'm not a big sound guru.

@ blackknight didnt you say that you installed these speakers in your front doors in a 2011 supercab?? anything to look out for with the windows or other holdups in installation?

wont i need a harness/adapter for these speakers to plug right in instead of having to cut and strip the wires? Where can i get one of these if i plan to order through amazon? I know that I can get one if i order through cruthfield, but they are almost double the price.

These are the two i've found.

Amazon Amazon

Obviously the crutchfield one will be the correct one, it says on the site that it fits my truck.

I cant tell if this one from amazon is the same or not. It appears to be.

I actually put db5251's in my front doors. they are a component so they have a crossover and a tweeter. but if you go with the db571's they will fit fine and you wont have to drill your door panel to install a tweeter.

you can buy them off of ebay for like 7 or 8 bucks. crutchfield may sell them seperately also. i strip wires and crimp on terminals. but i do it all the time so i have the tools and a stock of connectors to do it

the db571s have flat studs on them so you will need to get some female connectors that you can crimp to the wires and then slide onto the flat studs.

go to ebay and pick up something along these lines http://cgi.ebay.com/FORD-F-150-2010-...item3ca943eed6
it will save you from having to cut up any stock wires and allow you to return to stock if need be with minimal effort, only set ya back $10
