Agree on the last sentence. I don’t get hotspot functionality through Sprint on my phone and don’t want to pay the $30/month. Will this unit be useless for me? Or can it work off the cellular service through Bluetooth on Apple CarPlay etc? What features am I limited to?

Let me answer the last question 1st. You do not need WiFi if you only want to use CarPlay or Android Auto through the Bluetooth connection of your phone. I'm a bit of gadget/tech geek and I purchased the unit knowing that I would need to have WiFi for my usage.

I posted a screen shoot of Waze and YouTube music running in split screen, with a floating Google Maps all running, this would not be possible without WiFi.

Thank you for creating the video(s)! I like that launcher a lot better than their stock one.

There is a ton of addon options on their product page. The only thing I would like to do is have wifi on the unit and I will use my phone as a hotspot (we have verizon unlimited plan) to use the streaming services. I am not sure I care much about the OBDII stuff on this actual radio/screen.

I have a 2015 w/sync 2 and auto A/C and see that this is their newest model:

Are there any other options you would suggest that maybe you did not get and you wish you had got? if you are listening to YouTube music or another app through the screen what happens if you receive a phone call through the sync system?

Thank you in advance!!

Also I did see that you have a phone holder on your vent. I'm not sure what phone you have but I got this one for my galaxy s8 (at the time), and I have a galaxy note10 now and this charger works great! (it is a fast wireless charger):

This is the same unit I purchased for my 2015 w/sync 2 and auto A/C.

I purchased the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay option, I haven't used either very much, nice option, but not a necessity. I don't get many calls, but yesterday I did, the PX6 unit only indicated an incoming call via its ringer, no phone screen popped up. I was still have to answer with the buttons on the steering wheel, but I need to play around with this a bit more.

Thank you in advance!!

Nice phone holder. I just wanted something that was a vent mount, but held the phone firmly in place, the one I have works well.

Raspy150,

The Linkwell system is a variant of the Phoenix PX6. The PX6 uses your existing SYNC module and your Climate Controls (plus the Climate Control boards), these are removed and install as part of the PX6 system. You don't lose any SYNC functions and are still able to access the SYNC system.

The Linkwell replaces your SYNC module and uses on screen buttons for climate control. I guess that is the reason for the Linkwell unit being $365.00 more.
PX6 is running Android 8.1 vs Linkwell Android 4.4
PX6 4 gig ram, 64 gig rom, vs Linkwell 2 gig rom, 32 gig ram.

Thanks,

The unit came from the factory with the screen not calibrated correctly. It's easy fix, just place all 5 fingers on the screen at onetime, apply just a little pressure, the calibration screen comes up and walks you through the calibration.
I now do the calibration every few weeks and it improves the touch points.
