Default Subwoofer recommendations

Looking for subwoofer recommendations on my 06 Ford F150 supercab. Guy at the stereo placed mentioned some diamonds. He also mentioned replacing the front speakers and the stereo as I have the stock radio currently. Didn't really see any threads for what i'm asking. Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Man there are so many great subs out there now a days. I think you should be more concerned with placement. Once you figure out where you want to place the sub you'll narrow down your options significantly. Once you figure out the placement figure out the enclosure, size, etc. Ported will be loud and boom a lot where a sealed with be more tight and not as loud. If you are having a shop install it they probably have cars/trucks that you can listen to to figure out what you want.

Budget?

What cab space are you willing to give up? (under seat, behind seat, floor space)

What do you want from the sub? Are you a basshead or do you just want to fill the bottom frequencies?

Your choice needs to be based on 1. What you listen to. 2. Budget.

I use a Pioneer AVH490 head unit, Kicker 6x8s in the doors, Pioneer tweeters in the front doors, 2 10" shallow mount Rockfords under the back seat in a sealed box, and 1 750 watt Rockford amp.

It's no power house, but it is a great setup over factory.

How are the Rockfords? Heard that's a good brand. Going to place them in the back under the seats. Looking for good quality sound, not so much bass head, but I do like bump. Looking to enclose and willing to pay a little more for better quality.

I like that pioneer unit. Listen mostly hip hop, rock, alternative, jazz, some country. Basically anything but death metal, no offense to it. Willing to drop 500-700. What did you pay for yours?

Another recommendation:

Stereo Integrity MKV
https://stereointegrity.com/product/...v-12-subwoofer

This is a true sq sub that can play low low with clarity. Requires minimal airspace and has 14mm of xmax which is pretty impressive for a shallow. Not to mention customer service. When you call stereo integrity, you speak directly to the owner. Nick is a wealth of knowledge!

Another excellent option is the JL tw3 12.

Looks like these have been selling like hotcakes. All you need is to give up is an arm, a leg, and two of your unborn and you're good to go!
