Default Sub Box?

Hey All, I'm running 2 twelves in the back of my supercap, under the seat. The box was custom for a silverado and since that has a larger back seat than my F150, the box takes up too much room. Just slightly too tall and about 6 inches wider than the seat. I'd like to get a box that fits nicely under the seat. Any suggestions? what is every one else doing for woofers? I am almost afraid that the 12" is just too big to fit a box, custom or not....

I have 2 10 JL audio's in a box under my back seat. My buddy as 2 JL 12's in the same size box under his back seat. My 2 10's out hit is 12's 2 to 1. You can not get a box under the back seat with enough air space under the back seat without having to raise the seat 2 inchs. I say go with 2 10's and not worry about it. My buddy that owns a stereo store has 2 JL 10's in box for 300.00

Default depends how loud you want it

if you want to keep your 12's do it. its not hard at all to space your back seat up. just put a spacer under the legs... first i had 2 12's under the backseat then i went to 2 10's. i feel like i had better sound quality from the 10's. not enough airspace for the 12's also i put 1 10 in the center console at one time. if all your looking for is quality that will work. the last system i had i took to competions was 4 10's ina cut through. this go around im doing 8 10's. reason for the cut through is i still wanted my back seat. let me know what the decision is i like your truck

you have lots of options, the 12's wont neccesarily be loudest at all so if thats what your thinking then u might wanna change that, a few nice 8's or even a single 10 can be as loud and sound as good as 2 12"s

1/2" thick MDF.

Make a box. It's simple and very effective. I built boxes for my 6x9s and they work better than the store bought boxes i used to have

do not use 1/2 mdf, i use 1/2 mdf for beauty panels and it is not good for boxes..it will work but u will be in the same boat as buying pre-fab which is most of the time ****, you get better sound from a box built yourself and from higher quality materials

The MDF works perfectly in my truck. It channels the sound perfectly, and its also strong.
What material would you suggest?

i don't think material is the problem... everywhere i read it's 3/4" mdf...not 1/2" 3/4 = more dense

Hit JL's stealth boxes. You can get 2 8's under the seats. I dont know what year your truck is, but theres alot of options you can do. You can put them in your center concoles and stuff too, but i'm not a person to do that

Like i said, 1/2" works perfectly. The main thing when building boxes is to ensure theres enough air in the box for the sound.
