FLEX IS A KILLER IN BOXES...even if you cant see the flex happening it is, mdf is not 100% air tight as it is, its pressed together composite leftovers of board "medium density fiber-board" they claim 3/4 but most of them are using 1/2 if your lucky, i have seen it first hand (i have worked at audio shops) you are better off using 3/4 mdf and calculating all your measurements there, sure it cuts down on your space some but you wont notice any of it with the right sub as it will sound just as good or better, also those jl subs sound great!!! awesome sq, horable price tag and there not that loud, also if you know how to fiberglass your doors are opened up tremendously, i once did a fiberglass box for a guy and squeezed a lil under 2 cubes before displacement out of the bottom of his seat (one side, not the 2nd) all things are possible just gotta plan out your idea before you start

mdf is a good choice...probally the best. if you can find it, get HDF-high density fiberboard....its kinda hard to come by though..you have to find the right lumber yard...not home depot. If I were you, I would never go below 3/4....if I had to...5/8 but try not to

I have an ebay pre-fab box for 2 12" MTX Thunder 6000's i've had forever.. not too bad.. a lil tight on airspace for 2 12's but fits nicely! Got my amp mounted comfortably under the pass front seat..
