speaker sizes

Default speaker sizes

Ok so i have a 97 ford f 150 and i see that they have 6x8 speakers in the doors and behind the seat. my question is will 6x9's fit in them i hope so cause i dont want to have to buy more speakers.

Test fit them and see? It really depends on the speakers in question.

5x7 or 6x8 5.5 and 6.25 never put 6x9in most are to deep.

I heard you can fit 6x9 in, just make sure they don't stick out more than inch. All they did was put the 6x9 in the hole, find out where the holes should be at, drill the holes and mount it. That is just what I've heard though.

I hadn't talked to anyone about speakers for my F150. In my Ranger when I used to work at Best Buy one of my installer friends said it is possible to shave out the opening to an extent but it depends on how deep the speaker itself is. Maybe check with a local shop and see what they think (whether you want them to install it or not) they might have some experience with it too. Hope that helps a little.
