Here is a harness that is way cheap at only 18$ free shipping. Watch this install video and skip a few minutes to where he starts the install on the f150.

Yes, 5-Star released that video today. Another viable option.

Well I got it all installed today. I don't have my sub yet so it is lacking bass. Everything seems to work but the chimes don't go thru the speakers, but I don't think that is a big deal. Bluetooth/Siri all go thru the speakers. Wife seems to be happy.

Only issue that I have is a loud hissing noise that is coming from the LCQ1. I have to turn the gain all the way down on the LCQ1 and then it is completely gone from the back speakers, but still can hear it a little thru the front speakers. Tried different ground spots but still hisses. Any ideas? I am going to call Audio Control tomorrow and see what they say. Hissing noise seems to be an issue with this model. But I can't really find another brand with all the same features, especially the EQ settings.

I have seen other comments about the Audio Control LCQ having hissing issues. I don't have any experience with them but my gut tells me its a grounding issue. Where did you ground the LCQ1 and Amp, are they the same location? Did you use a wire brush to remove all the paint/primer from the grounding location so its making a good ground connection? Are you getting any engine noise/whine with the system on? Are your speak wires and power wires running on opposite sides of the truck?

What is the tuning process for the LCQ-1 and the amp? Which do you set the gains on first? Since the LCQ is serving as your pre-amp source, I would imagine that would be first. There are also several jumpers in the unit to set. Did you set those to what you want your system to do?

Double check how you have the LCQ set to turn on (GTO vs non-GTO). The Fix-86 had some similar turn on options and I did not have it set correctly when I first turned it on and I had all sorts of hiss and noise coming out of my speakers until I set it correctly.

I found this on AC's website: http://www.audiocontrol.com/knowledg...alled-product/

Also try disconnecting the center speaker. It sounds like crap leaving it connected.

This is the main reason I got the JL Fix86. No hissing or engine noise. I drove down to Abt Electronics north of Chicago and picked it up for $300. Saved about $80 bucks.

I have tried hooking the ground directly to the battery and still makes the hissing noise. I can still hear the hissing when the engine is off or engine on, doesn't matter. There is a jumper on the LCQ1 to try to isolate the ground. I will that next. The GTO is turned off, I am using a remote line of fuse 23. I wasn't able to call Audio control, too busy at work. I will try a tinker with it tonight.

Grounding at the battery seems like a lot of work.

Where did you mount the equipment? Under a seat or behind the rear seat? There is a factory ground location behind the rear seat on the drivers side. That is where pretty much everyone that upgrades grounds. Try that location. Just remember to remove the paint for good contact.

This is a pic off another install, not mine but I used the same location.
