Default Questions about new HU install

I want to install this unit in my 2012. What happens to the digital display? Will I lose my clock, compass and outside temp display? Are the any aftermarket options available that fit into that space? Thanks.

Some have lost the info and some have not. It is a tossup. No aftermarket options to fit that space.

you will most likely lose any functionality your stock parts had if you replace them. if you want them back you will have to buy a unit that has those features. for example the pioneer nex8200 i installed has a clock and will display the outside temp on one screen, along with a host of other options the factory system had and lots that it didn't.

I just don't like that the factory display will now just be useless space.

There is a harness you can buy to retain all your sync functionality(including everything that gets displayed on that screen) and work side by side with your head unit.

What harness does that. You can use Maestro for the Sync retention but I don't think it will retain the screen. Maybe I am wrong

I think I read that the Maestro also retains the temp, time and direction(North, South etc.) display. I may be wrong but thought i read that.
