sounds dumb but make sure the remote bass **** is turned up...If I turn mine down it completely turns off the sub....

Just because the rca's are hooked up doesn't mean he is getting a signal thru them. If the subs are turned on in the HU menu then perhaps the new HU is defective.

if he has a power running to the amp, it will still have power w/o the remote wire, but it stay on instead of turning on/off with the HU.

1st make sure u have the remote turn on hooked to the right wire on radio then make sure amp cuts off when radio does. then make sure u have amp gain turned up. then if doesnt work take out the rca out of head unit and touch your finger on it and should make a sound when u touch it ... then if dont u might have bad rca or the output on head unit is bad

That's kinda what I'm thinking might be the problem

No raif281 I have not yet to be honest I put my oem deck and the factory 8inch sun back in for now till I can get time to take it over to a stero shop

But here is the thing I don't under stand I put my alpine screen back in and hooked up the own sub and it will work but when I hook up my after market amp and subs nothing so I'm just gone to leave the oem 8" sub hooked up to my alpine deck.
