Default Need Help Installing Sub/Amp 2018 XLT 302A

Hey guys,

New Ford owner

Apologies up front, I know this has been discussed to death on here but after reading and reading I just confused myself even more about how to wire up my amp and sub.
Basically I want to install and old 10” Sub and Sony Xplod 1000W amp out of my old truck, in my 2018 XLT Screw. It’s a 302A package. It has the connector inside the drivers side C pillar for the WPT1212 harness.

It seems I can just
  1. Tap into the rear speakers and connect to the WPT harness
  2. Connect the WPT harness to the Sub connector in the C pillar for speaker signal to the amp
  3. Run remote on from fuse #95 under the hood and fused power from the battery
  4. Turn on the Sub and Amp with FORSCAN

Is that correct?

Last time I installed this system was on my 01 Ram and it was very simple haha.

I’ve seen people talk about using the FOR-11CK harness instead of the WPT1212 harness. And that the WPT1212 will only work on up a 200W amp and only 6v of power for remote on. Wanna make sure Im buying the right stuff.

Thanks!

Do a search..lots of info on that. Use the FOR harness and tap the front speaker wires for the sub. The rears are bass attenuated, not good for sub work. The WPT harness for signal to the sub may or may not work.

Yup. For-11ck harness. Front left and right channels for signal. Fuse 23 for remote turn on. I would waste your time with the c-pillar harness.

Thanks guys!

So basically purpose of the FOR-11CK harness is just to avoid tapping into the factory wiring correct?
And since my amp has high level input I can just tap into the front speakers and run that to the amp without having to worry about a LOC or using RCA’s right?

Sorry for the dumb questions lol, last time I installed this system, my H/U had RCA outs so I didnt have to tap into anything.

You are correct sir and if you wanted a fully built harness for that purpose I make them. https://www.f150forum.com/f30/fully-...ervice-464360/
My sub woofer only package is cheaper than the full package as well. Send me a PM if interested.
