I put this in my 13' XLT and I absolutely love the look and all the feature i can control. I also love the fact i can look at my gauges that I normally cant see with an oem set up.

Hey Everyone,
I hope all of you don't mind me posting here even though I have a Ford Escape 2013 SE with the 4.3 inch Sync screen and not an F150. I can't seem to find any luck figuring this out.
I had my Kenwood Excelon DDX9904S DVD Car Receiver installed with the iDatalink Maestro and iDatalink wiring harness successfully installed.
The only thing is that the steering wheel controls do not work unless the cable from the Sync screen is disconnected and then plugged into the Kenwood headhunt. The Sync screen remains dim. Not a huge issue because everything works great otherwise. I use the Kenwood for bluetooth.
Anyway to get the screen to turn on and maybe show the date and time or something like that? I don't care if it does anything else just the OCD in me wants it to be on. Maybe even take out the screen and add some sort of a shelf if that's available for purchase somewhere?
I posted on 12Volt, but an employee seems to say my Sync screen shouldn't be on. http://www.12voltdata.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=17192
I have found setups online with the screen being on with some sort of light and text at least and even some of you have it on in your trucks. I couldn't care less about Sync really. It's just my OCD looking at this screen that's off. If I am out of luck for whatever reason maybe someone has a suggestion on how to hide it so it looks good?
I attached what it looks like below. I appreciate any help or advice!!!!

Ah, thanks. The person that responded on there didn't seem too helpful and offered contradictory information saying the screen shouldn't be on at all despite me seeing some have gotten it to work.

New here question about the idatalink Maestro for my 2014 f150 xlt with 4.3 in screen. I put in an Alpine ilx-207 and the maestro kit looks great with it. Just a question about the steering wheel controls not working even after it was flashed and Replaced a second time. I had a local shop do it. They cant seem to figure it out looking for answers as to what the the cause for the steering wheel controls to not work .

If I purchase the K150 kit along with the RR and the F02 kit with a premium Kenwood nav unit is this something easy to install, kind of like plug and play, or better left to the experts?
