Is it just me, or does your Sirius sound like Garbage?

Yes the quality is low, I still use it as we have 2 FM channels locally (both suck), 1 AM channel (really sucks), and up here in rural Canada our cell data is super expensive so streaming is out.
....so every time my Sirius is about to renew, I call to cancel, they offer a sweet deal and I accept lol

Satellite has sucked in every vehicle I've listened to. HD Radio is the same. Low bit rate garbage. Thankfully I have unlimited data on my phone and Spotify premium is pretty high quality.

Sat radio sucks in my XLT, but we just purchased a 2013 Lexus ES350, and sat radio actually sounded pretty good. I realize there could be a huge difference in the speakers, etc. but I was surprised it sounded as good as it does. Maybe it's the HU that makes a difference, not an audio expert by any means.

Thanks everyone. Glad it's not just me. I have heard lots of xm tuners in houses that sounded fine, not great, but fine. I'm going to assume that the tuner in our head units is of poor quality, and lacks a decent ability to uncompress and round out the waveforms properly. Either way, not going to pay for this kind of service I guess. Being in the Colorado mountains, streaming isn't really a viable option a lot of the time. I've got a cell booster installed and still have issues getting decent phone service in lots of places i frequently travel. I guess in going to have to spend some time loading up a USB drive with some good playlists, and listening to the FM radio otherwise.

I re-upped on the Sirius just for the music on long trips, etc., I have an Ipod in the truck but wife doesn't like "my" tastes in music. I hope to upgrade the speakers in my truck over the winter but not expecting an improvement with the Sirius.
