Default Installing Kicker Hideaway with Sony System

I've searched and searched and haven't really found the answer to this...

I have a 2016 Supercrew with the Sony System.

I'm going to install a Kicker Hideaway.

If I tap the sound from the rear speakers, is that going to be ok? Or is the range to those speakers limited by a crossover or what not?

I am sure it's probably best to tap in to the factory sub wire... I'm just trying to think it all through.

You can tap the factory wires. Do a search on the forum for the correct wires to use.

I am aware of this. I am simply asking if it would be bad to tap the rear speaker wires instead of the sub wire. I've searched and read through stuff for over an hour and haven't found a clear answer.

I just got a Hideaway and it's currently hooked up to the rear speakers. I believe there is bass restriction there, so I'm going to try the front speakers now. I will let you know how it sounds.

Appreciate the info. I was afraid of that. This is turning out to be a bummer. Nobody wants to post a clear answer. Everyone just says "search" but that isn't working.

I can find tons of posts about people doing it without the Sony setup and stuff... But not having any luck here...

I have a 2014 with the Sony system and I just tapped into the Sony sub wires. I also left the oem sub connected and with both subs going, it sounds good enough for me.

I did the same thing. That and upgrade door speakers.

Could it be better? Absolutely. Does it sound good? I sure think so. Fairly inexpensive, easy to do and no worries about HU truck controls.
