The Mustang has an amp on the speakers. Your truck is not wired for an amp, but you can use 2 aftermarket harnesses to allow inputs and outputs to an amp and not have to splice any wires. You also might want to experiment and swap the positive and negative wires around on the front speakers to the truck. I have noticed that the front speakers on f150's are out of phase from the factory.

toyz51,
As you know I got the JLs you suggested and I really like them outside of the base. I just think they are being underfed. Forgive me for my ignorance, but can you explain exactly what I need to do in detail? How would I hook up the 2 aftermarket harnesses? Would they be hooked to the original HU? Where would you suggest I put the amp and how would I get power to it. As you can see, I’m clueless, but I have no problem diving it as long as I have a good idea of what I am doing. I do have that 12v power plug in the back seat, but not sure if that would work or not. Thanks in advance!

You will want to run signal and speaker wire from the factory deck to an amp below or behind the rear seat. You will need to run a 8ga or larger wire from the battery to the amp. BTW, it is bass not base.

Which Infinities did you get? I have been looking at www.crutchfield.com and to say I prefer clarity over loud any day. This is why I bought Klipsch Reference speakers for the house.

I now have the Pioneer FH-P8000BT as my HU running 4 JL TRs. I’m thinking about putting in some components up front instead of the JLs. Anybody know anything about Infinity Reference 6820cs? They are 2 ohms vs. the 4ohm JLs. Im thinking about ordering them since Crutch has a 30 day return policy. Trying to get more radiant sound. After this I plan on getting a powered sub for the lows. I have the F150 supercab.
