He’ll be in the market for an amplifier soon , it was mentioned to not buy speakers that’d he be wasting their potential on… No speaker mentioned above wouldn’t sound better with an amplifier.

I have installed a set of Focal IS690s in my 2017 F150. They are designed for the F150 and fit perfectly into the front doors and also come with replacement tweeters to replace the stock ones in the A column. Made a big difference in sound quality.

Just did Focal Auditor 6.5 components upfront and 6.5" coaxials in the rear doors and then a 4 channel Pioneer amp on my 2017 SuperCab.
Absolutely love the way it sounds (plus a small powered sub under the back seat).
I'm a little older, but this has got to be my favorite sounding "system" that I've ever owned.
No, it won't shake doors and such, but it's perfect for me.

you are correct, but the JL Audio C1s aren't high end speakers. They are entry level speakers, with a price tag of $350 for the entire setup.
No, it won't Please don't make statements like these when you haven't tried first-hand. It actually sounds amazing, especially in the front. The C1 690 can go very low bass-wise (39Hz) and their high sensitivity allow them to require next to nothing in power to function properly. This is the reason they were built. And no, I do not work for JL Audio. You will obivously not get the equivalent of a $2000 5 channel amp with a subwoofer sound sytem; but for $350, you get a very full and pleasant sound, and the improvement over factory is incredible.
But don't take my word for it. I hope he comes back once installed with his feedback.

My findings
1. Volume on JBL was better with stock radio
2. The c1's produced a VERY clear sound
3. Mid range bass was larger sounding with jbl
4. C1's distorted a little less at higher volumes.
My recommendation. If you listen to Rock or heavier sounding music, you will much prefer the JBL sound especially for rear fill
If you like cleaner sounding music such as pop, country, classical. You will much prefer the clarity the c1's provide.
Hope this helps anyone in the market.
I happy I replaced the rear speakers. It helped a lot more than people on this forum made it sound like it would or rather in their opinion "would not"
Stock base level sound system with 8" sync 3 no amp.
