Focal speaker upgrade
 

Looking at putting getting focal utopia m speakers up front without any other speakers has anyone done this? Are you happy with it?

Plenty of people have had only speakers up front. Rear fill is hard to incorporate properly.

As far as Focal Utopia M's....not a lot of people have the ~$4k budget for those beauties....I know I don't but I don't think you will be disappointed by them!

As happy as I am with my Focal expert series 165s, I can't imagine the Utopias being worse.

They sound amazing but are very expensive.

I have the flax series up front and am extremely happy with them

What amplifier will you be using?

Hard to tell exactly what you're asking here.

If you're talking about just a speaker swap without supporting upgrades (amps, dampening, custom install, DSP/tuning, subwoofer), then you're wasting your money.

I think he's asking if anyone here has put in those specific Focal Utopia speakers and if they like it etc? I'm way too cheap to spend that amount on speakers and don't think I would be able to really notice a significant sound difference to warrant the cost. All I can say is that I replaced my front door speakers with some $60 Kenwood 6x9s and it does indeed sound better than the factory Sony ones.

Exactly....

Those Utopias would be wasted without power going to them and then you'll need bass because those speakers can get super loud. Slippery slope this hobby is.
