Cool F-150 SYNC 3 → Lincoln-Style 12" Screen Conversion (2015–2020)

I’ve been working on a screen upgrade for the 2015–2020 Ford F-150 with SYNC 3 and wanted to share the progress.

Using FORScan, the SYNC 3 system is reconfigured to the Lincoln 10” UI layout (1280Χ800).
Then the interface is scaled proportionally to a 12" panel (1920Χ1200).
During upscaling, dynamic compensation is applied to reduce distortion and maintain color accuracy instead of stretching the image.

Just sharing what we’re working on — feel free to ask questions or share feedback from your own experiments.

Do you have a step by step or video, I've been wanting to do this to my 2019 F150 Limited but I don't want to convert to SYNC 4.

No, this is an aftermarket screen using its own matching bezel.

Detailed installation instructions will be released shortly. This is a screen upgrade kit from Carabc that preserves the original system and controls, so you'll still be using the Sync3 system. You can get more information from them via Facebook.

Ok, I see it on their Facebook page, did you have to do any as-built data changes to the APIM? I only ask because I prefer the Ford graphics instead of the Lincoln. Or is that all pre-installed in the display?

It won't change any parameters other than the UI. In fact, I don't understand why they chose Lincoln's UI, either. Their explanation is that Lincoln's UI is designed for 10-inch screens and can cover 12-inch screens, while Ford's original UI couldn't. But in reality, their underlying systems are the same.

so Mikey, any more progress? Not sure of the answer to your question… does this mean with car abc I can change the user interface back to ford for the ford logo? Or?

Their response was that it's not possible—installing this screen would automatically switch to the Lincoln style and couldn't be freely changed. However, their 2021-2023 F-150 screen upgrade can retain the original Sync4 UI. I believe this is due to the Sync3 system.

Will sound stupid, but I want the ambient temp shown while in carplay. Can this do that?
