I'm currently using the WPT-1212 to feed an amp for my subwoofer. I am buying the Dayton DSP-408, upgrading front components and doing an active crossover with a 4 channel amp. I'm going to run my rear speakers through the DSP as well because, well why not? My question is, should I keep the subwoofer connected via the WPT-1212, or should I use outputs from the DSP? Any reason (aside from the control you get with the DSP) to choose one as the source over another?

Separate question, can I use the positive and ground from the WPT to power the DSP instead of running 12v from somewhere else?

Yes to using the power source. Although, dsp's like Helix suggest getting your power and ground from the same source as your amp and I would suggest the same. Since you are already running power and ground to your amp(s), it shouldn't be any trouble.

The biggest reason you want everything to come from one source is for time alignment purposes. You take a chance of your sub playing out of phase with the rest of your speakers which can either cancel out frequencies all together or cause your sub to be delayed or advanced compared to the rest of your speakers.
