Center channel speaker removal
I noticed that the shop which installed my new components up front did not disconnect the center speaker. I see no reason for it to be there because it sounds like garbage, and I would rather have better separation. Looking for advice on how to get to the center channel speaker so I can disconnect it. Can you simply remove the grill, or does the entire plastic housing have to come out? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sure! It was super easy, and literally took only 5 minutes. I used a flat head screwdriver to pop out the grill. I would recommend a small pry tool if you have, but the flat head worked fine. There are 4 tabs total. 2 on the left, and 2 on the right. Once the grill is off, there are 2 hex screws holding the center channel speaker in place. Remove those, and the speaker will come right out. From there, you can unplug the speaker. I remounted the speaker just so I wouldn't lose it in my garage in case I ever go back to the stock setup. Once the speaker is screwed back in, simply put the grill back in place and push down to lock it in place. My components definitely sound better now that I don't have a distorted center channel in between them!
