Monkyman, I do not even have the advent mic connected at all. I use sync for the phone since it has voice commands.

 

Considering installing the Advent in 2009 F150 XLT. I have I Phone 5. I understand you cant stream video from the 5 due to there being no Jlink cable compatible w it. Any idea if theres an issue playing music from the I Phone 5? Im currently able to do it thru the factory radio using Sync. Assume Ill be able to do same way? Thanks for the previous info, its been a help!

 

I was told the reason there is no video cable for iphone 5 is it is all digital output. This unit needs a analog video input to display video. So your music will still work.

 

OK, makes sense. Trying to decide between having After Market (Kenwood) or the Advent installed. Pros and Cons for both I guess. Thanks

 

Have read different places the maps are lacking or out of date. Any issues?

 

Advent? Is this the same Advent that makes/made home audio speakers? I thought they were kapput. Have home stereo Advents for many years and love them.

 

After seeing several Youtubes and reading reviews I took the leap and ordered this unit today. Also ordered the backup camera and SAT tuner. Will takes pics and comment on install when it arrives.

 

In name only, they went totally overseas several years back, but the advent speakers are still regarded as some of the best ever and were usually compared to speakers that were 10X the price....too bad they dont still make them.

 

Tallyman, I think you will be happy. The unit is not absolutely perfect, I am sure but I think its one of the best out there especially if you want integration with sync. I guess I should post some pics as well. I have Polk MM components up front, MM coaxials in the rear doors, all being run by a JL 900/5 and it sounds pretty darn good. I still use sync for my mp3s and phone calls as I like using the voice commands for my playlists etc.

 

How does the name of the artist and track name show on the display of the radio when using sync and does it show album cover art?
