Attached is the stereo I have in my 2001 F150 XLT.
File name is the Ford Model #.
I have this radio too. I pulled it out today and to my surprise, it has two harnesses pluged into back, I had already bought an adaptor harness that fits into one of connectors, but what do I with the other smaller plug?
From what I've seen (trying to get my question answered to no avail) is that if you have the Mach system, there are 3 plugs and the smaller plug-in goes to the external amp. The later Mach/premium units have a built in amp and the smaller (3rd) plug-in is not used.
No I donot have 6 disc in back , I have 6 disc in the Head.. not aware of any amp.. ill try to post pic, been a while since I posted pic here..cant find the button.

are you going to sell the 6 disk? And does it work?
back to my original question... why do i have two wiring harneses plugged into back of my 6disc in head changer?
i have a wiring harness adapter for one of the plugs (longer one) but dont know what to do with the other..
my factory changer (head) dosnt work.. radio is fine but it wont spit out the cds and sounds like r2d2 from starwars.. i do not have a sub woofer, or external amp that i know of and i think i would know after owning the truck for almost 6 years.
i have purchased a pioneer head with single disc, aux jacks and blue tooth ..
not real fancy but not real expensive either.
