4d tech upgrade
Looking at doing the 4D Tech 4" to 8" radio (sync 3) conversion in the future on my 2013

Just wondering if there is a better option out there.

I have no experience with that unit so can't compare. This other company is significantly cheaper and I have worked with them and they are pretty cool. https://phoenixautomotiveinc.com/col...014-ford-f-150
I'm a dealer for them so let me know if you'd like to order one.

i think $2,300 is absolutely ludicrous. you could buy the flagship model headunit from any manufacturer, get the install kit and maestro rr and have several hundred dollar bills left over, and i mean several.
head over to www.crutchfield.com and enter your trunk information. they will tell you what will fit and you can choose all the additional options you want in a new headunit. for example:
everything you need to install a new headunit - $415 - https://www.crutchfield.com/car/solu...&mode=ShopPath
now you just have to pick one. you can search them the features you want (bt, nav, usb ports, sc card slot, etc.). as another example:
top of the line pioneer model - $1,200 - https://www.crutchfield.com/p_130AVW...X.html?tp=5684
so $1,615 for the best you can get vs $2,300 for the other kit.
now some people may want to keep with only stock parts and that's fine, you just have to pay the price for it. aftermarket gives you many more features and options and is cheaper.
good luck.
