Default 2018 SCREW Lariat Budget build.

Loving the truck, but the stock audio, as we all know, is pretty lame. Decided to upgrade a few things. I went in with a 1200 budget and came in at about 20 bucks over so I’m pleased.

Component list:

1: Focal ISU 690 6x9 components
2: Focal ISC 165 6.5 coaxials
3: Kicker Key 180.4 amp
4: Kicker CX400.1 amp
5: Kicker CompRT loaded truck box with 10” woofer and passive radiator,

My goal is to keep everything as close to stock in terms of storage and look. So far everything has been pretty easy in that regard. I used the middle seat bolt as a mount for the sub box and can fold the back seat up almost completely.

I decided to use the under seat storage area to house the amps rather than cut up any more of the back carpet. I used a piece of black plastic I had from another project to make a mounting board. My 2018 doesn’t have the stock sub harness so I just used the front speaker wires and tee’d off of them for leads to the sub amp.

Right now now I just have the front and rear speakers hooked up to the stock unit. The sound is already much better than stock, and I can see why. What is up with the quarter sized magnets on the rear speakers, lol?

Cant wait to get the rest hooked up. Just wanted to share. Thanks all!

Nice looking setup. I went with the 6.75 version of that box, x2. Keep an eye on that passive radiator for hitting the seat, as it has serious excursion.

Looks great! This gives me hope that I can fit the 12" version behind the seat with the LMI seat extension kit. Install coming soon. Let see that amp rack once you get it mounted.

I didn't even think about drilling a hole in the sub box to mount it using the seat bolt. Thanks for the idea. I was thinking about mounting it to a 2x4 covering the seat bolts.

It works really well. And adds a bit of security. It’s a bit tricky to screw the sub back in though. Had to use a 90 degree adapter to get in there for two of the screws. Still can’t quite lift the bottom of the seat all the way up. But I don’t often have a need for that, so I’m not too worried.
