Default 2017 Screw Sync 3 sub install

I've searched a good bit and can't seem to find the answer. I have a 2017 F150 XLT with sync 3 on a 5.0L engine (no auto start stop). It is a 7 speaker system (4 doors, 2 a pillar and center dash). I'd like to put the OEM kicker sub in the back just to round things out a bit and don't care to do any further modifications or wiring.

The dealer tells me it's truly plug and play on my system. Buy the OEM version (not the kicker VSS), mount it and plug it in and go.

Is this really the case or is there additional wiring work to do?

Your dealer is correct. Buy the sub/amp combo, bolt it up to the rear wall, pull the c pillar panel back, plug in the harness, and finally have dealer use the forscan to activate the harness for the amp to get signal. Easy

I just picked up my new 2017 lariat and would like to hear more (or see my if pics). My wife's 2010 has a factory amp and base mounted under rear left seat and I wonder why mine didn't come with one? Her weathertech rear floor at had a labeled cutout for 'if base installed ' mine did not.

Do you know what each wire does? I am looking to use that to power up a module to add a amp and sub. Is it possible to use that plug as a source?
