Default factory stereo wattage?

I already upgraded my speakers now I’m thinking about adding a small amp.. 45 watts per channel. I saw the answer above is that a fact does anybody know for sure how many watts the factory radio system is?

Most head units (factory and/or aftermarket) are about 15 w rms.

If you want 45 wrms. Get the kicker key 180.4. It has a really nice auto tuning feature.

i believe most factory units put out around 4-6w per channel. the 10-15 is peak power, not rms, much like the aftermarket decks that advertise 50w per channel when in reality it is around 16-20rms. music is dynamic.

I just measured this weekend and with the internal amp turned on, I was getting around 8v out when measured at max volume or about 16w rms.
If turned to low level via forscan and eq 0, you get about 3.5v. With any other eq and low level you get about 5.5v.

sounds about right. since music is not linear 16rms could be achieved at full volume, but at that point a factory system has been distorting for a few clicks and most likely sounded like crap those few clicks ago, so for normal day to day driving 6-8rms per channel seems about right.
