I got my truck back last night. The hvac module was bad on the Metra dash kit I bought. They send a new one and now everything is working fine. Be careful about buying the kit from ebay and other unreputable sellers since Metra doesn't appear to want to stand by their products purchases through these means. The shop I used insisted they send a new module and finally they did. The only issues I have noticed so far is that the mute button the steering wheel controls does attenuate instead. I changed the mute settings on the av receiver to mute but it still does attenuate. Everything else works great including the hangup and answer button. I installed the Pioneer 8200 nex and I am still trying to figure all the functionality out. The metra kit is way nicer than scosche. You can use the touchscreen to adjust the fan and modes or you can use the buttons on the sides. The work really smoothly. I also had some Focal Perfomance speakers installed and it seems they didn't install the passive crossovers with the component speakers. Does anyone have an idea why they would do that? Here are some pics of the dash kit:

I'm glad you got it taken care of! The mute button just lowers the sound on all the kits apparently as mine does this as well. Can you post a few pics of what vehicle informations shows up on the Metra?

Yeah I will try to make a video of going through the options. To be honest though I didn't see anywhere where is displays more info. If I push the sync button nothing happens. The up down buttons on the right and the auto button also don't do anything.

^looks good ! The mute button seems to be this way with Pac and Scosche...maybe it's a ford thing??
I dunno about crossovers, I would ask the shop. Maybe it stops the extreme high notes? Some focals have extreme bright high notes

On the PAC unit, do the relocated 4 buttons from below the 4.2" display do anything? I'm looking at the Kenwood DNX773S as a replacement for my 4.2".
